My desk rehab

I posted last week about a desk I wanted to check out from craiglist that was for sale for 35.00 ...well I bought it and sanded it down and painted it black. It turned out OK....not great. looks kinda blah, maybe some new knobs or I was thinking about buying some wood to make a new top for it and staining it cherry.
I don't know....maybe it just needs some colorful accessories, I will think about it for a few days.

After... Desktop not organized yet...

Hey Liz! wow! I think it looks awesome! If it still bugs you, maybe it's needing new knobs like you said.....try white knobs? Or try those vinyl decor things that Stampin' Up! sells...and I've seen similar ones at JoAnn's...they're like rub ons for walls but I would think you can use them on furniture!

I think new knobs would really add alot, maybe a really shine stainless steel. But I think that some nice pops of color in accessories, just may do the trick, so you should try that before the expense of new knobs. Guess what, oiled the sewing machine and it is working! Thanks again for the tips!

So good! I wouldn't want to tackle any project even remotely like that. Wow though... you could sell it now for so much more!

Actually Janis it was fairly simple. Just a light sand and paint with a brush and roller.. it's not easy for me to say any thing that involves painting is easy. ;)

The desk looks so nice.....it's amazing what a little paint (and sweat) can do :) Also, for my fabric covered cork boards, I got the frame at michaels (orig. $25 bucks) and used my %40 off coupon (down to $15 bucks). i looked at yard sales and thrift store FOREVER, but no square frames to be found. Thanks!

I think the desk looks great. Have you organized the desktop yet? I am sure you are enjoying it! And you could always find some funky knobs to give it a little more character...but I really think you have done a great job!
